The stone guys loved working in our backyard so much, they just had to come back and do some more works of art...
Once the decking was good and cured, the stone guys returned to finish out the fire pit, steps, flagstone transition and retaining wall bench. Heidi's checking out the work they've done so far...
And then, of course, it rained. A lot. Our pool was a lovely chalky green color. Not quite what we had in mind...
The flagstone transition between the patio extention and the new pool deck came out very nicely.
They put some boulders in place for the bench around the firepit before the decking was poured and then capped them off with a flagstone top. Very creative of them to combine the randomness of the flagstone with the blending of the boulders.
And then for the firepit, they echoed the squares and rectangles of the spa and (of course) stuck another boulder on the end. There will be lava rock along the fire ring inside the fire pit/bench.
Bit by bit, it's coming together.

Bit by bit, it's coming together. Next up - LANDSCAPING! :) Adding a little color to this brown mass of boulders and concrete...

If you keep posting such interesting pictures I may just have to drive up and inspect this project in person!
